There will be a high school parent advisory meeting on Wednesday September 19th at 5:15 in the high school library. If you have not been to a meeting in the past, you can make this your first one. We will go over some things that are going on in the high school. I may have some questions for parents and parents can ask me some questions. We will try to be done by 6:15.
Thanks!

School Pictures are Monday!
Parents,
School pictures are Monday. Please make sure that your son or daughter has picked up a picture form. They are available at the office. We will take pictures of each student, whether they order prints or not. We use these pictures for activity passes and the yearbook.
Thanks!

Advisory Supply Drive
Parents,
As I mentioned in an earlier post, each month we will be focusing on one donation item for the Food Shelf. This month's item is toothpaste and tooth brushes. We have had a good start as you can see below:
Thank you to Mrs. Winter and Trinity Thompson for decorating the display case. We have some items but we would like more. Please send any items with your student to give to their advisor. This is a great way for our students and staff to give back to the community.

September is here!
Parents,
We are well into the school year. It would be a great idea to sit down and have a talk with your student as to how things are going in their classes.
What they are learning...
What they like about school.....
What they are struggling with.....
How are their extra curricular activities are going.....
Anything they want to share with you about school....
JMC access should be up and running. Mr. Kronneman sent an e mail earlier suggesting you use FireFox when viewing JMC parent access. If you have any questions please let us know in the office. What you should be looking for is missing assignments or LI (this means Late Included - it is missing but figured as a zero so you do not get a false impression of the grade.)
The Success Center is still available every night after school for students missing assignments. We are starting to get a few more people in there but it has been pretty sparse. Do not be afraid to require your child to stay. If you have any questions please let us know.
During periods 2-6 right now we have a para professional assigned to help struggling students 1 on 1. If you are interested in getting some more help for your student please contact me and we can get something worked out.
As I have said many times, the more involvement you can have with your child's education the better the chances of success will be. Please take an active interest in your child's education and help them in any way that you can.
Have a great week!

Photography Class Field Trip
I was able to help chaperone the photography class as we headed out into the community for a nature photo shoot. Bob and Ruth Baack were our hosts and they have a lovely yard. There were many flowers, plants and decorations. It was a great place for Mrs. Carlson's photography students to get some great pictures. They were working on close ups of flowers and other nature shots.
Thanks so much to Bob and Ruth for hosting us today!

Slow Down Eagles!
If you have driven by the school lately, you will see a radar trailer parked north of school. In case you didn't know, the speed limit in front of school is 15 mph. I for one, have had to slow down from my normal pace to get that machine to read 15! I know several of our students are well over the 15 mph posting daily. Thanks to the Britt PD for the friendly reminder. I think we all need to think about our speed in school zones as there are students walking and people always pulling in and out of the lots. Please take this opportunity to remind your students about safe driving habits in general, but especially in school zones!
Congratulations to our Cross Country teams on a very good showing at Mason City Newman last night. The Girls were first and the boys were second. While the volleyball team came up short against Forest City, we saw some very positive things last night!
Just a reminder that play tryouts will continue Thursday before and after school!
